There are so many reasons. Catholic schools are more disciplined, values oriented, and really results oriented. A public school has passing some standardized test as its goal. A Catholic school has educating and building a strong person as its goal. Which would you rather attend? Would you rather be prepared to take a test once a year or prepared to live a successful, happy life? Some think only rich kids go to Catholic school from the answers. WRONG. Turns out the schools I attended had very healthy grants and programs to take care of those who were motivated and great students - but whose parents had no money. Some of the answers are right. Catholic schools can kick out a student who brings drugs to school, does not attempt to learn one bit and whose parents do not support the program. Many public schools have a majority of kids who dabble in drugs, don't try to learn and whose parents are disgraceful human beings. That is often more of a statement on our society failing our kids. The quality of teachers in Catholic schools in most places is far greater. I had people with doctorates teaching in my high school. The public school district was lucky to have much of anyone exceptional. The really great teachers seemed to love being in a place where they were really allowed to do great work with kids who wanted to learn. The public schools in my district were too rough in terms of drugs and violence for anyone in their right mind to want to go and teach. Of course, there are always some exceptions where you find pretty decent public schools. They still fall short in the lack of values and discipline compared to the average Catholic school. PS Teacher unions are horrible. They are there to protect the high incomes of the teachers and care very little for the product they produce. I love when the union complains about the horror of a teacher who works nine months a year for seven hours a day, five days a week and makes only 75 to 110,000 a year plus pension and benefits. OMG. Think about all the other careers where you work outdoors or in much more stressful environments all year long for half that amount or less.
